Kensington Street is a narrow, cobbled path lined with small, colorful houses that sit uncomfortably close to the massive brick wall of the Brighton railway station. While most of the city’s major thoroughfares carry heavy traffic, this street remains a quiet pocket of victorian cottages. In the eighteen seventies, railway workers lived here so they could reach the nearby railyards in minutes. Today, the street preserves a scale of housing that vanished elsewhere when the station expanded its tracks and platforms.
