Greville Place nature reserve

Greville Place nature reserve began as a private garden belonging to the painter Frank Dicksee, who served as the president of the Royal Academy of Arts in the early twentieth century. He filled this plot with a diverse collection of trees and shrubs to provide authentic backgrounds for his dramatic historical and romantic paintings. The site retains this original layout of mature greenery today, acting as a rare botanical anchor in a dense urban environment.
