Europa Hotel

other

The Europa Hotel rises above the surrounding streets with a facade of dark glass and steel that catches the light differently than the brickwork nearby. It opened in nineteen seventy-one, intended to bring international glamour to a city struggling through the Troubles. Within its first decade, the hotel endured thirty-three separate bomb attacks. Staff eventually started referring to it as the most bombed hotel in the world, yet they kept the doors open to reporters, diplomats, and travelers throughout those years.
