Telegraph Building

The Telegraph Building on Royal Avenue wears a heavy, limestone facade carved with the faces of famous explorers and thinkers. It served as the headquarters and printing plant for the Belfast Telegraph for nearly a century. In nineteen twenty-one, a bomb blast tore through the building's interior, but the presses were back in operation by the following morning. Editors and typesetters worked through the rubble to ensure the evening edition reached the city streets without missing a single delivery.
