Harland & Wolff HQ & Drawing Offices

The two massive yellow gantry cranes, known as Samson and Goliath, dominate the skyline above the Harland and Wolff headquarters. This red-brick building served as the nerve center for the world’s largest shipyard. Inside these drawing offices, thousands of draftsmen planned the construction of the Titanic and its sister ships. While the company once employed thirty-five thousand people, the engineering legacy remains captured in these rooms, where steel decks and massive hulls were first measured out on linen sheets by hand.
