Trade union mural

The Duncairn trade union mural stretches across the side of a brick row house in a bold display of primary colors and stark, angular figures. It features a portrait of a worker holding a picket sign that demands decent pay and dignity for all laborers. This image honors the activists who organized the city’s shipyards and textile mills during the early twentieth century. When the paint began to fade, local volunteers returned to trace the original outlines and brighten the faces of those depicted.
