The Bridge Company building features a distinctive, rounded corner facade made of smooth concrete that stands out against the more angular structures lining the street. Built in the late nineteen forties, the building housed the operations of a prominent engineering firm tasked with connecting the rapidly expanding city of Anchorage across its challenging terrain. Engineers here designed the structural steel spans that defined early local construction. The firm eventually moved on, but the building retains the sleek lines from its mid-century industrial origin.
