The Yugantar Ashram is a narrow, three-story building with a facade of dark, weathered wood. In nineteen thirteen, this quiet house became the headquarters for the Ghadar Party, a group of Indian expatriates dedicated to ending British colonial rule. From the basement, they printed a newspaper in Punjabi and Urdu, smuggled into India to incite revolt. Har Dayal, the party founder, once filled these rooms with fiery speeches, turning the residence into the nerve center for a global revolutionary movement.
