Mount Davidson Vista Point

Mount Davidson is the highest natural point in San Francisco, reaching an elevation of nine hundred twenty-eight feet. The hill was once known as Blue Mountain for the lupine and California lilac that blanketed its slopes each spring. In nineteen eleven, the name was changed to honor George Davidson, a dedicated geographer who conducted extensive surveys of the Pacific Coast for the United States government.
