The John Baran Art Gallery sits inside a narrow, light-filled storefront in the heart of Santa Barbara. John Baran spent decades working as a commercial illustrator and designer before he turned his attention to his own canvases. He opened this space to display his work, which features vivid, oil-painted scenes of local landscapes and coastal vistas. Every painting on the walls reflects his practice of returning to the same spots along the California shoreline to capture the shifting colors of the Pacific.
