The granite facade of sixteen hundred Glenarm Place holds a repetitive, honeycomb pattern of deep-set windows that defines the building against the Denver skyline. Built in nineteen seventy-four, it rose as the headquarters for the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company. When it opened, telephone operators worked on the middle floors, connecting calls by hand in a space designed to accommodate thousands of wires. Today, the building serves as a residential tower, having shed its internal switchboards for apartment kitchens and living rooms.
