The building at six twenty one seventeenth street is clad in a distinctive white terra cotta that seems to catch the high mountain sunlight differently than its neighbors. Completed in nineteen ten as the headquarters for the First National Bank, it arrived when Denver was reinventing itself as the banking hub of the Rocky Mountain West. Its architect, William Fisher, designed the facade to convey the stability of gold and silver vaults, wrapping the steel frame in stone that still holds a sharp edge today.
