Love Lane is a narrow, limestone-paved pathway in the heart of the Key West Historic Seaport. It is lined by small, wooden cottages painted in vibrant pastels, many of which still feature the original gingerbread trim from the late nineteenth century. The lane earned its name during the early twentieth century when sailors from the nearby docks frequented the area to court local women. These cramped, unpaved quarters offered the only privacy available to those workers during their brief time on land.
