Old City Hall

The three-story Mediterranean Revival building on Washington Avenue features a distinct terracotta roof and arched windows that mark it as the former City Hall of Miami Beach. Completed in nineteen twenty-eight, it served as the seat of local government for decades. During the nineteen thirties, City Manager Claude Renshaw ran the city from here, often dealing with the frantic growth of the tourism industry. A stone carving of a flamingo sits above the entrance, a nod to the city’s namesake and early branding efforts.
