Halekulani Hotel

The Halekulani Hotel spreads across five acres of Waikiki beachfront with low-slung, white-stucco buildings that avoid the height of its skyscraper neighbors. Robert Lewers first built a private residence here in nineteen oh seven, calling it Halekulani, or house befitting heaven. In nineteen seventeen, Juliet and Clifford Kimball bought the property and converted the house into a hotel. Guests stayed in small cottages scattered across the grounds, often dining under the same kiawe tree that still shades the terrace today.
