The Surfjack Hotel wears its nineteen-sixties roots on its sleeve, identifiable by the crisp, mid-century modern aesthetic and the bold, hand-painted mural at the bottom of its central swimming pool. It occupies a site that once functioned as a typical apartment block before developers reimagined it as a surf-inspired boutique hotel. They brought in local artists to fill the lobby with murals and curated the rooms with custom Hawaiian-made goods, aiming to capture the vintage Waikiki vibe before the high-rise era took hold.
