Waikiki Surf Alley

A weathered surfboard rack stands embedded in the pavement, holding boards that have seen decades of salt and sun. This alleyway serves as a shortcut between the main road and the shoreline, yet it functions primarily as a communal gear locker for local surfers. In the nineteen sixties, the space became a staging ground for the pioneers of modern longboarding. Duke Kahanamoku often walked this path, carrying his heavy redwood board, leaving a trail of sand and stories that surfers still trade today.
