Hotel Monteleone

other

The Hotel Monteleone stands out with its intricate, oversized clock embedded directly into the sidewalk-facing facade, a massive bronze face that signals the lobby entrance. Antonio Monteleone, a Sicilian shoemaker, bought the original commercial building in eighteen eighty-six to provide lodging for fellow travelers. He slowly expanded the footprint by buying adjacent properties until the hotel consumed nearly the entire block. Even today, the hotel remains owned and operated by the same family, five generations after Antonio first opened his doors.
