Lincoln Performance Hall

cultural

The Lincoln Performance Hall features a prominent, Brutalist concrete exterior with deep, recessed windows that create sharp shadows across the facade. Originally constructed as the Lincoln High School building in nineteen eleven, it functioned as the city's primary secondary school for decades. In the late nineteen sixties, the building transitioned to Portland State University. Architecturally, the heavy masonry serves as a holdover from the era of imposing civic institutions, housing a modern auditorium that remains the university's main stage for visiting artists.
