A white sign with bold red lettering marks the storefront of A. Esposito Incorporated, a butcher shop that has operated on Ninth Street since nineteen twelve. Antonio Esposito opened this shop to serve the neighborhood’s Italian immigrant community, selling rabbit, tripe, and custom cuts that were difficult to find elsewhere. While the area around Ninth Street has evolved over the last century, the shop retains its tiled walls and the original glass meat cases. It remains a family business today.
