Three Bears Park

Three Bears Park features a playground enclosed by a high brick wall topped with iron fencing. The land once held a series of dilapidated row houses that the neighborhood association purchased in the late nineteen sixties to prevent them from becoming an eyesore. Local residents hauled away the rubble themselves, turning the empty lot into a community garden and play area. It takes its name from the wooden sculptures of three bears that sat here for years, carved by a local artist.
