Kazi-Zade Rumi Mausoleum

The Kazi-Zade Rumi mausoleum features a tall, ribbed turquoise dome that rises above the surrounding Shah-i-Zinda necropolis. Built during the fifteen century, the structure marks the final resting place of a renowned scholar and mathematician who served in the court of Ulugh Beg. While other tombs nearby celebrate royalty, this site honors a man known for calculating astronomical tables and teaching science. Legend says that when the scholar died, his body was carried to this hillside by his grieving students.
