Completed in nineteen thirty-six, this apartment block replaced a Victorian mansion to capitalize on the rising demand for sophisticated city living. Architect Emil Sodersten designed the building with a series of stepped, horizontal balconies that wrap around the exterior. Inside, the original residents enjoyed a ground-floor restaurant and room service, a service-oriented lifestyle that signaled the peak of interwar elegance in Potts Point.
