Green Park features a bronze sculpture of a bronze horse and rider that commemorates the Australian Light Horse regiments. This green space sits on land that once held the Victoria Barracks military hospital during the mid-nineteenth century. When the hospital was demolished in the nineteen twenties, the city converted the grounds into a public garden. Today, the park serves as a quiet patch of grass in the middle of Darlinghurst, tucked between the terrace houses and the busy streets of the neighborhood.
