Brisbane City Hall

The Brisbane City Hall stands out with its massive copper dome and the tall, square clock tower rising above King George Square. Completed in nineteen thirty, this building replaced the old Town Hall and served as the administrative heart of the city. During the Second World War, General Douglas MacArthur used the building as his base while coordinating Allied operations in the Pacific. He reportedly spent many hours in his office here, shaping the defense strategy that would define the war in the region.
