Queen's Wharf Brisbane

The curved, golden roof of the Neville Bonner Bridge stretches across the Brisbane River, linking Queen’s Wharf to South Bank. This massive development occupies the site where the original nineteenth-century penal colony met the river. Stone walls from the convict-built Commissariat Store still stand here, surviving long after the city expanded around them. When the colonial architects chose this spot, they needed a place for supply ships to dock. Now, the project houses casinos, hotels, and public promenades on that same foundation.
