Drewery Lane Street Art

The walls along Drewery Lane are covered in layers of aerosol paint that change every few weeks. While other parts of Melbourne have designated street art zones, this narrow alleyway functions as a rotating canvas for artists who often paint over existing works during the night. A decade ago, the local council attempted to formalize the space by commissioning specific murals, but the underground graffiti community reclaimed the brickwork almost immediately. The paint now sits inches thick in some spots.
