Model Tudor Village

The Tudor Village is a cluster of miniature half-timbered cottages and shops scaled to one-twelfth life size. Sir Robert Best commissioned the village during the nineteen thirties, drawing inspiration from the historic architecture of England. He had these structures built to help raise funds for the Lord Mayor’s Children’s Hospital Appeal. Visitors often peer through the tiny windows to see detailed interiors, including fireplaces and doll-sized furniture, crafted by craftsmen who dedicated years to replicating period features at a miniature scale.
