Théâtre Rutebeuf

cultural

The Théâtre Rutebeuf wears a facade of geometric concrete panels and wide glass panes, a sharp departure from the older brickwork of Clichy. It serves as the municipal cultural hub, built on the site of a former cinema to bring live performance into the daily flow of the neighborhood. In the nineteen seventies, the town council pushed for a dedicated space for dance and experimental theater. Actors still rehearse under the original concrete arches while the public gathers in the lobby.
