Léopold Sedar Senghor Garden

The Jardin Léopold Sédar Senghor features a long, paved central walkway lined with rows of young trees and low-slung, modern benches. It sits atop the Petite Ceinture, the abandoned nineteenth century railway line that once circled Paris. Before the garden opened in two thousand sixteen, this sunken stretch of tracks lay silent for decades, overgrown with weeds and inaccessible to the neighborhood. Today, the garden serves as an elevated green bridge between the busy streets of the fourteenth arrondissement.
