This garden occupies what was once a chaotic patch of railway embankments used by the Petite Ceinture line. When the trains stopped, the city turned the overgrown tracks into this quiet, vertical park. Sergei Rachmaninov lived just a few blocks away during his final years in Paris, and the city named these hillside paths after the composer in nineteen eighty-four.
