The bronze bust of Dalida sits at the intersection of Rue de l'Abreuvoir and Rue Girardon, catching the light on its polished, golden-hued surface. Dedicated in nineteen ninety-seven, the sculpture honors the singer who lived in a nearby mansion for twenty-five years. Fans often rub the chest area of the bust, a habit that has worn the metal down to a bright, smooth finish. The sculptor, Alain Aslan, modeled the piece after the singer’s own features to memorialize her presence in Montmartre.
