La Maison Rose stands out for its soft pink stucco walls and dark green shutters, perched squarely at the corner of Rue de l'Abreuvoir and Rue des Saules. Germaine Pichot, a model who posed for Pablo Picasso and Amedeo Modigliani, opened this house as a restaurant in nineteen oh eight. She served struggling artists and locals during the early decades of the twentieth century. Today, the building serves lunch and dinner behind that same faded pink facade, operating in the shadow of the Sacré-Coeur.
