The I Love You Wall in the Jehan Rictus Garden Square features six hundred and twelve enameled lava tiles. Frédéric Baron asked friends and neighbors to write those three words in their native languages, eventually collecting over one thousand inscriptions. Calligrapher Claire Kito then transcribed them onto the wall. The work creates a vast blue splash against the garden greenery. Baron intended the piece to be a monument to peace and reconciliation, a location where people could express affection in any language they carried.
