Théâtre Fémina

The Théâtre Fémina features a narrow, elegant facade topped by a distinct, rounded pediment carved with classical masks. Built in nineteen oh three, the venue functioned as a theater designed specifically to appeal to high-society women who gathered there for plays, fashion shows, and lectures. A decade later, the entrepreneur Pierre Heuzé turned the space into a laboratory for early cinema. He screened silent films accompanied by live orchestras while the audience enjoyed tea, effectively merging the theater experience with the burgeoning movie industry.
