Collège courteline

The Collège Courteline stands out with a stark, brutalist facade composed of raw concrete and repetitive, rhythmic window bays. Built in the late nineteen sixties, this middle school occupies the site of the former Hôpital Trousseau. When the hospital was demolished to make way for urban renewal, architects designed this school to fit the modular, industrialized construction trends of the era. Its angular, block-like structure remains a fixture in the Bel-Air neighborhood, serving students where patients once recovered in long-demolished wards.
