Collège courteline

This school is named for the French writer Georges Courteline, a master of satire who spent much of his career mocking the very government institutions that might have employed him. He was famous for exposing the absurdity and incompetence of the French bureaucracy through his plays and novels. In a display of his own cynical wit, Courteline once secured an indefinite sick leave from his job at the Ministry of Church Affairs to avoid work, yet he continued to collect his full government salary for the rest of his life. His literary legacy remains one of the sharpest critiques of administrative life in late nineteenth-century France.
