Hôpital Armand-Trousseau

The Hôpital Armand-Trousseau features a prominent, sprawling campus of red brick buildings tucked behind high walls on the Avenue du Docteur Arnold Netter. It is a specialized pediatric hospital that grew from the nineteenth-century asylum established by the Assistance Publique in eighteen fifty-four. Armand Trousseau, a pioneer in clinical observation and diphtheria research, served as a lead physician here. His work moved medicine away from vague theories toward diagnosis based on the physical symptoms he documented at the bedside.
