Dôme de Paris

The Dôme de Paris, formerly known as the Palais des Sports, was built in 1960 to replace the city's historic Vélodrome d'Hiver. It stands as a landmark of postwar engineering, featuring the world's largest self-supporting light-alloy dome at the time of its construction. This impressive roof is comprised of 1,100 individual aluminum panels and spans roughly 70 meters in diameter, allowing for an entirely unobstructed interior space free of any supporting pillars.
