The Théâtre L'Echangeur occupies a site that was once a derelict industrial area. Starting in 1994, the performing arts company Public Chéri began transforming these abandoned buildings into a creative space, salvaging the structures to serve as a hub for theater, dance, and music. The name itself reflects its position at a literal and metaphorical intersection, sitting near a major motorway interchange and at the crossroads of three different cities: Bagnolet, Paris, and Montreuil.
