Centre Culturel Jean-Cocteau

The building you are approaching, the Centre Culturel Jean-Cocteau, stands on grounds that once belonged to the aristocratic Hotel d'Anglemont. Built in the mid-nineteenth century, this site passed through the hands of local mayors before finding its current purpose as a home for contemporary art and local creativity. One of its more unusual owners was the Count Arthur Lambin d'Anglemont, who purchased the property in 1850 and spent his later years here exploring the fields of philosophy and the occult.
