Square Pierre-Desproges

park garden

Square Pierre-Desproges features a tall, slender metal sculpture that stands as a stark vertical mark against the local housing blocks. The square honors Pierre Desproges, a French humorist known for his caustic wit and television sketches that frequently mocked the pretenses of his time. Before this space became a memorial to his sharp observations, it occupied a nondescript patch of ground tucked between the dense residential structures of the Hoche neighborhood. Desproges once said that culture is like jam, and the less one has, the more one spreads it.
