Parc Stalingrad

Parc Stalingrad in Pantin occupies a space once defined by the heavy footprint of industry. Its namesake recalls a nineteen forty-four victory, but the ground beneath it served the Magasins Généraux, a vast network of warehouses for the Port of Pantin. When the shipping traffic slowed, the city cleared the industrial rubble to create this green expanse. A long, raised concrete path cuts through the grass, tracing the original alignment of the old railway tracks that moved cargo into the canal district.
