Zapfanstalt

The Zapfanstalt features a tall, narrow facade of weathered yellow plaster, marked by a singular, heavy wooden door tucked beneath a stone archway. This building served as a nineteenth century bottling plant and distribution hub for the nearby breweries. Workers hauled massive barrels through these doors daily, filling glass bottles to supply the lively taverns of the Neustadt. Today, the rough stonework and deep cellar spaces remain exactly as they were when the local beer trade defined the daily rhythm of this street.
