Milchpavillon

The Milchpavillon sits in the Prießnitz district as a circular glass and steel structure, a rare survivor of modern architecture in Dresden. Built in nineteen twenty-eight, it functioned as a public dairy bar where residents bought fresh milk and butter. Architect Kurt Bärbig designed it with an open floor plan, emphasizing light and cleanliness to reflect the health-conscious ideals of the era. During the city-wide destruction of nineteen forty-five, this small pavilion remained standing while the surrounding neighborhood was reduced to rubble.
