The Yurakucho Sanchoku Yokocho is a narrow, neon-lit alleyway packed with small food stalls under the high, echoing brick arches of the train tracks. It brings produce and specialty dishes directly from prefectures across Japan into the heart of Tokyo. A man named Takuya Kudo developed the space to mimic the atmosphere of traditional nightlife districts. He designed it so that a salaryman could hop between a counter serving Hokkaido seafood and another grilling Miyazaki chicken without leaving the station perimeter.
