Founded in eighteen oh six, the shop originally specialized in selling high-quality washi paper to Edo-era artists and merchants. When a devastating fire destroyed their inventory, the owner famously saved only the account books and a single box of brushes. That resilience allowed the business to continue through generations, maintaining a tradition of paper craftsmanship that persists today.
