The Garden of Dreams stands out for its high, yellow stucco walls that block out the chaotic noise of Kathmandu. Inside, the garden features neoclassical pavilions, fountains, and formal ponds arranged in a layout designed by Kishore Narshingh Rana in the nineteen twenties. He built it for his brother, a field marshal who had traveled extensively in Europe. After years of neglect, the garden fell into ruin, but it was restored in the early two thousands to mirror its original, elegant design.
