Pilgrims Book House

The Pilgrims Book House features a narrow, multi-story facade overflowing with hand-painted wooden signs and towers of books visible through open, street-level windows. Founded in nineteen eighty-four by Ram Chandra Tiwari, the shop began as a small collection of rare texts for travelers. Tiwari eventually built an inventory of over one hundred thousand titles. A massive fire gutted the main building in two thousand thirteen, destroying decades of specialized Himalayan archives, but the shop reopened shortly after just a few doors down.
