Janabaha Dyo (Seto MachhindraNath Temple)

religious

The white shikhara tower of Janabaha Dyo rises above the courtyard, distinguished by a golden roof and the intricate wood carvings that frame its entrance. This temple serves as the home of the white deity, Seto Machhindranath, a god of rain and compassion worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists. During the annual chariot festival, workers remove the deity from this shrine and place him on a tall wooden tower, pulling him through the narrow streets of Kathmandu to bring blessings to the city.
