New Bird Skatepark

other

A wall of bright, jagged graffiti marks the New Bird Skatepark, tucked away on a derelict industrial lot near the Baltic Triangle. Skateboarding culture reclaimed this space, turning a vacant site once slated for luxury apartments into a DIY concrete bowl and ramp network. Local skaters poured the initial concrete themselves during the middle of the night, driven by a lack of places to ride in the city. The park remains a raw, unpolished piece of Liverpool, constantly evolving through new spray-painted murals.
